1.) Who are you and where do you live?
I’m Judith Vergara García and live in Peru.
2.) What did you do before you decided to become an artist?
I studied languages English and French.
3.) When and why did you decide you devote to the art?
I always wanted to become a painter, since I was a child I used to paint and draw, so when I finished to study languages I decided to apply to the Fine Art School here in Lima and that was the beginning of all of this.
4.) What is your favoriteSubject (s) and design media?
I like the figurative painting and I prefer to work with oil.
5.) Where or how to find inspiration?
Oil painting gives me more possibilities in order to work human body so that’s the reason I decided to use that material.
6.) What do you like about your work?
I like the fragility of women bodies but at the same time they are strong and powerful I like how I can show it in my drawings and paintings.
7.) Which artist or art movement that has influenced you and what way?
Lowbrow, Laurie Lipton, Dino Valls, Black and white photography
These artists show me all the possibilities about art, how you can show an image and disturb and make think people. Every gesture, the color, the message behind the work is not only a nice painting is a history about who you are and what you want to say.
8.) What are the best answers that you have received for your work?
Taken part of collectives exhibitions, have solo shows and see how people like what I do and how they support my artwork. That’s for me is the best response that I can have.
9.) What are your favorite art and artists?
Lowbrow, Laurie Lipton, Dino Valls, Black and white photography.
10.) What advice would you give to other artists?
Work hard and never stop painting!
11.) Is there a question which do you imagine itself again and again?
No, there’s not
