INTERVIEW WITH ARTIST> Kevin S. Hyde (Belgium)


 

 

1.) Who are you and where do you live?
Mr Kevin is my born name but I am known as the author of The Hyde’ s Asylum, and I try to be faithful to myself what is not without difficulties! I live in Tournai near France.

2.) What did you do before you decided to become an artist?
A lot of reading of works of art and literature dices that I was in age to read, it is a form of art structure with my manner of considering and of acting.
The art of the cinema me whizz a lot to influence graph in my choices and to end to be structured.

3.) When and why did you decide you devote to the art?
It me whizz always to seem obvious to follow this way, the natural way of easiness have me never seemed rather scheming and little intoxicating. I like this freedom to be able to so express myself in foibles    numerous facets of expressions, but it is especially having accepted the visual slaps of certain artists which made me horrified, touched the deepest and persuaded that it was what I had to make, a manner also to leave a trace of my passage.

4.) What is your favoriteSubject (s) and design media?
Having tried different types of mass media I always come back on the charcoal, according to me it is very flexible and tractable, the quoting mucking up deal a very nice material has work and to explore, ideal for research and sketch, it allow me to study shades on models with a big fastness and therefore to spend more time has the study of a model.

5.) Where or how to find inspiration?
A lot of researches, It can vary often but first of all it is always a cogitation on the methods of use of light, Sketches give me an idea of putting how a face in value on my film plans, positions, expressions.
These are everything of factors has take relies it in the realization of a plan.

6.) What do you like about your work?
To exploit without stop new ideas! will to exceed my own borders,  try to find an evolution through new plans and ideas to be exploited. To work material and to discover new functions is very rewarding, I make everything not to rest me on my    acquired and try to discover new things that can feed my interest.

7.) Which artist or art movement that has influenced you and what way?
The poem of revival me whizz always touched by its softness and silent force, the graphic job of David Lynch for his poem and the films of George Méliès for the rising cinema, and lately the courts-lengths of Rob zombie where from there is an unbelievable force, both in the music and in the cinema.

8.) What are the best answers that you have received for your work?
Funnily I do not pay a lot of attention to comments and criticisms of the public, I try to keep the cold head but especially to remain myself, me work first of all for me and not for the others, sketches, painting and cinema     means of communication, not dialogue between the public and me but message are which I offer him.

9.) What are your favorite art and artists?
Trip in the moon of George Méliès, one of the nicest writings put on thin coating,     Dead City Radio and the new gods Of supertown and The boogieman of Rob zombie for the madness of these figures and the returning of picture,    it expresses an emotion and a remarkable force there.

10.) What advice would you give to other artists?
To make darker lowered head always and fulfil this slightest desires and fantasies, of it not to convert to a movement but to be searched has create their own movement, not to put on of chains faced with negative criticisms, the listening but not to take into account them.

11.) Is there a question which do you imagine itself again and again?
Perhaps fact to ask me if my job is finalized enough or if I must pass to something else to explore another idea, being very impatient it is difficult.
